Andrea M. Beckford, Esq. is an alumna of Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York, where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Minor in Legal Studies, as well as served as a member of the Le Moyne Council of Honor Societies, Psi Chi Honor Society, and Pi Gamma Mu Honor Society.
Thereafter, Ms. Beckford received her Juris Doctorate from Rutgers Law School (Newark). During Law School, Ms. Beckford was a student attorney for both the Child Advocacy Clinic and the Criminal & Youth Justice Clinic, as well as an Articles Editor for the Women’s Rights Law Reporter. Additionally, Ms. Beckford’s article: “We Need Equal Cheers for Boys and Girls: How the Absence of Cheerleaders at Women’s Sporting Events Is a Violation of Title IX” was published in Volume 26 of Tulane Law School’s The Sports Lawyers Journal.
After her graduation from Rutgers Law School, Ms. Beckford served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the New Jersey Superior Court, Civil Part, Essex Vicinage. Prior to joining GIRO, Attorneys At Law, LLP, Ms. Beckford practiced, predominately, within the realm of civil litigation, including but not limited to: insurance defense litigation, representation of public-entities, plaintiff’s personal injury litigation, and appellate practice.
In joining GIRO, Attorneys At Law, LLP, Ms. Beckford is eager and prepared to draw upon her prior experiences to provide her clients with personalized representation, as it relates to estate planning, elder law, family law, and related matters.
Currently, Ms. Beckford is licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey and the United States District Court, District of New Jersey.
